Directions to Hill Farm Organic Community Garden:
The Hill Farm Community Garden at LSU is
located at the Horticulture Hill Farm Teaching Facility (HHFTF) on the
main campus. The HHFTF is near the
LSU Rec Center Sports Complex (now called University Recreation).
Unfortunately, the on-line LSU campus map does not show our teaching
facility. In general, the HHFTF is a 4 acre piece of land left after
giving land for West Lakeshore Drive, Sorority/Fraternity row, the
Rec. Sports Complex, and the Lod Cook Alumni Center and Hotel over
the years.
DIRECTIONS
If you are leaving the main campus on
South Campus Drive – cross Highland Road – continue on South Campus past
the East Campus Drive intersection and the East Campus apartments on the
left. Continue on South Campus Drive as it crosses a large canal
(Corporation Canal) – cross over the bridge. Just as South Campus Drive
curves to the right, take a LEFT and take the road to the left. At the
corner of this road and South Campus Drive there is a brown sign on the
left for the teaching facility. Follow this road through the East Campus
parking lot – baseball fields are to your right at this point – until
you reach the wrought iron gates of the teaching facility - enter the
gates. Parking is available in the Horticulture Hill Farm complex for
those that need to park. You are allowed to park within the gates
of the facility and NOT in the East Campus parking lot.
FYI If you end up at the Rec Center
you have gone too far.
